Not just fun, sun and shopping, although those are wonderful too, Amalfi provides a perfect base from which to explore the
meticulously restored ruins of Pompeii and/or the lesser-known Herculaneum. Follow in the footsteps of Jackie Kennedy on Capri
and don't miss seeing Villa San Michele in the town of Anacapri. Enjoy the thermal spas of Ischia. Naples has a beautiful
pedestrian district, as well as well as, a heritage of Italian folk music some of which you will surely recognize. Naples
is the home of pizza. You may think you have tried mozzarella di buffala, but if you haven't tried it here where it is made
fresh every day, you won't believe your taste buds. Though not famous in the world, the red wines of the Campania region,
made on the side of Mount Vesuvius, are certainly worth trying.

Eat...
Caravella (Amalfi). The place to go for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Caravella is pricier than most, but the carefully
prepared creations are well worth the additional cost.
La Tre Sorrelle (Positano). This waterfront restaurant marries good food with good views. But other options nearby also offer
great selections.
Cumpa Cosimo (Ravello). This fair priced locals' hangout offers half portions and a kids menu.
Amalfi lemons. Amalfi is famous for its lemons, which are unique in their color, size and flavor. You can buy a bottle of
limoncello (a sweet lemon liqueur), which can be used in baking a variety of sweet goods.
Play...
The beach at Positano. This wide beach is mostly public and free. Although the sand is far from sugary white, the water is
clear and inviting. Other nice beaches can be found in Amalfi, Maiori and Minori.
Ravello Fesitval. Various concerts are held here from June to September.
Explore...
Amalfi Coast scenic drive. This often harrowing, but always beautiful drive takes you from Sorrento to Solerno around curves
with the Mediterranean 500 feet below. Consider hiring a car or taking a bus trip to fully enjoy the view.
Ravello Duomo. The 11th century duomo is characterized by its beautiful bronze door, sculpted in 1179 by Barisano da Trani.
Paradise Cloister (Amalfi). The Chiostro del Paradiso was once a cemetery for Amalfi's elite, but is now a cluster of crumbling
columns and statues. From it, you can access the crypt containing St. Andrew.
Shop...
Positano swimwear. The swimsuits in Positano come in all styles and colors, and are in demand the world over.
