Newport Onshore is the perfect home base for exploring this New England sailing mecca: the harbor and marina are right in your front yard. When you want to join the seafaring fun, you can rent equipment or charter boats close by. For swimmers, public beaches are about two miles away, or you can use the indoor or seasonal outdoor pool. Newport has 19th-century mansions open for public tours. Newport's history dates to the 1700s, and more than 400 pre-Revolutionary War homes are in the area.

From the Providence Airport, follow signs to I-95 South, to Route 4 South--a left-hand exit--which turns into Route 1. Take this over Jamestown and take the first exit, Route 138 East (exit 3 Newport/Jamestown). Stay on Route 138 and cross Jamestown Bridge and then Newport Bridge (toll bridge). Take the first exit after the Newport Bridge (Scenic Newport). At the stop sign, turn right onto Farewell Street. At the 2nd light, turn right onto America's Cup Avenue. At the sixth set of lights, turn right onto Thames Street. Newport Onshore is approximately 3 blocks down the street on the right side. Guest registration is on the left after you park.
